DESCRIPTION
Biological Activity: Propidium iodide (PI) is a nuclear counterstain that intercalates into double-stranded DNA and emits red fluorescence. PI is membrane-impermeant and only enters cells with compromised membranes, making it useful for distinguishing dead or dying cells. Excitation/Emission (nm) = 535/615.
