DESCRIPTION

OmiFluo™ BOSHY-LD Green is a BOSHY-based fluorescent probe developed for selective lipid droplet (LD) imaging in live cells. Featuring a rigid boron-chelated salicylhydrazone (BOSHY) core, this dye delivers bright green emission, high photostability, and reliable performance in lipid-rich microenvironments, where conventional planar fluorophores often suffer from aggregation-caused quenching.

Key Features

  • Bright green fluorescence with a large Stokes shift, enabling high-contrast imaging

  • Dual-state emissive (DSE) behavior, maintaining strong emission in both solution and aggregated cellular environments

  • High specificity for lipid droplets, driven by balanced lipophilicity and neutral-lipid affinity

  • Excellent photostability and low cytotoxicity, suitable for live-cell and long-term imaging

  • BODIPY-compatible optical window, allowing easy integration into existing imaging workflows

Optical Properties

  • Excitation: 488 nm

  • Emission: 510–580 nm (maximum ~560–575 nm, green channel)

These spectral properties make OmiFluo™ BOSHY-LD Green fully compatible with standard confocal microscopes and commonly used green-channel settings.

Applications

  • Live-cell and fixed-cell lipid droplet staining

  • Visualization of neutral lipid storage and dynamics

  • Studies of lipid metabolism and cellular lipid homeostasis

  • Multicolor fluorescence imaging in combination with nuclear or organelle-specific probes

Advantages

Compared with traditional lipid droplet dyes, OmiFluo™ BOSHY-LD Green provides stable fluorescence under high local dye concentrations, sharp droplet boundaries, and high signal-to-noise ratios, making it a reliable alternative to conventional green-channel LD probes.
